I am proud of, and take quite seriously, the charge of being the official keeper of records for Gloucester County . Much of the history of our county is contained in the many volumes of information we have stored in our office. We have records dating from 1701 and have taken extraordinary efforts in the last several years to preserve these documents for future generations.
The "Open Public Records Act" has streamlined and set specific guidelines to make access to governmental records readily available. Our office serves as the official OPRA Custodian of Record and we welcome your requests.
The Clerk of the Board's office is directly responsible to the Board of Freeholders. It serves as a depository for legal documents, minutes of Freeholder meetings,, insurance claims, and an inventory of County vehicles. Legal notices and meeting agendas are also prepared by this office.
The Clerk of the Board's office assembles information and is responsible for the publishing of the annual County Directory.
