Undersheriff Hammell served 28 1/2 years for the Monroe Twp. Police Department retiring on November 1, 2006 as lieutenant in charge of the Criminal Investigation Division.
A lifelong Gloucester County resident, Undersheriff Hammell graduated from West Deptford High School before attending Gloucester County College.
In his present role Undersheriff Hammell is primarily responsible for prisoner transport as well as the Law Enforcement Division.
