Re.: Drug dealer, gun charges in Monroe
Tykeem R. Gray (DOB 8/13/80), of Monroe Township was arrested by officers of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Investigations Unit Wednesday (12/20) and charged with narcotics possession and distribution, weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child.
Gray had been sought as a fugitive after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest for failure to appear in Superior Court on 11/3/16 for a hearing on narcotics possession charges.
Members of the FIU located Gray at a Lakeside Drive residence in Williamstown. After he failed to respond to officers’ commands, they entered and found Gray attempting to dispose of suspected narcotics.
After obtaining a telephonic search warrant, the officers recovered suspected marijuana, suspected crack cocaine a loaded 40 caliber handgun and drug paraphernalia.
Gray is charged with third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance; second degree possession of crack cocaine and marijuana; first-degree possession of CDS with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a handgun; possession of a weapon by a convicted person and endangering the welfare of children.
Gray is being held on the fugitive warrant and the current charges pending a detention hearing. A woman found with him, Christian Paynter, was released on a warrant. She is charged with endangering. Three minor children in the house are now in the custody of a relative.
Assisting in the arrests were officers of the GCPO Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force and the Monroe Township Police Department.
