Re.: Blackwood NJ man pleads to child sex assault
Gary Drach (DOB 5/13/66), of Blackwood NJ, pleaded guilty today to sexually assaulting a girl in Deptford Township NJ between 1992 and 1993 when she was under the age of 13 and he was at least four years older than the victim.
As a result of the plea to the second-degree offense, Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Dana Anton will recommend that Drach be sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison.
Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith scheduled sentencing for 4/20/18. Prior to that, Drach will be evaluated at the state Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center at Avenel NJ. If he is determined to be a repetitive and compulsive offender, he may elect to serve his sentence at the Avenel facility.
Drach is already a registrant under Megan’s Law, which sets monitoring conditions for sex offenders. He pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a minor in 1997 and served 12 years at the Avenel center. The two offenses to which he has pleaded guilty involved different victims.
The victim in the 1992-93 sexual assault disclosed it in 2016.
