Re.: 7 Yrs NJSP in Paulsboro assault
Kevin M. Mosley (DOB 4/7/85), of Paulsboro NJ was sentenced today (2/9/18) to seven Years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault on 3/29/16 in Paulsboro that resulted in head injuries from which 36-year-old borough resident John Scott died.
Mosley pleaded guilty 12/4/17 to the second-degree assault as a result of negotiations with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
In the incident, Scott was found unconscious on the street near his Pine Street home. He had left his residence to purchase cigarettes at a convenience store. Four males in an SUV were reported to have approached him, one of them punching him. He died of a head injury four days later.
In sentencing, Superior Court Judge Robert P. Becker said he found no mitigating factors favoring leniency for Mosley and called him an addict who will remain lawless until his drug dependency is effectively addressed.
