Re.:  Forgery, theft charges in worker program

Rasheed Coleman  (DOB 2/12/82), of Bridgeton NJ was charged by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office today (2/26/18) with five counts of forgery and a charge of theft by deception, specifically by falsifying time sheets while in a transitional program for injured workers.

Coleman had been injured while employed by Industrial Staffing Services Inc., a New Brunswick NJ based firm, and this resulted in workers compensation through ReEmployAbility, a national provider of return-to-work and transitional employment programs.  Coleman volunteered for Transition2Work, in which he was placed with a nonprofit and assigned light duty while earning wages from Industrial Staffing Services.

While assigned to the Pitman chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Coleman was required to submit timesheets signed by a supervisor.  In an investigation, it was determined that the timesheets he submitted had hours he did not work and that no supervisor’s signature was obtained.

The GCPO, in partnership with the NJ Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor and the National Insurance Crime Bureau, received a referral on this case from Crum & Forster,  insurer for Industrial Staffing Services.
