Re: Child Exploitation Arrest
James M. Blundell Jr. (DOB 02/03/68) of National Park, NJ, was arrested and charged on 9/10/19 with one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles Fiore announced. On Wednesday, February 20, 2019 members of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip stated that during the month of February 2019, an unknown subject uploaded images of suspected child pornography to the site imgur.com.
Subsequent investigation revealed the images were uploaded from Blundell’s residence in National Park. A search warrant was executed on the morning of September 10, 2019, which led to the seizure of Blundell’s cellular phone. A forensic analysis of the device revealed numerous images of child pornography.
Blundell was transported to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, where he was fingerprinted and photographed. He was then turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department to be remanded to the Salem County Jail. This investigation is ongoing.
Detectives from the GCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit were assisted by the GCPO Entry Team, New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit, federal Homeland Security Investigations and the West Deptford Township Police Department.
Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of their rights as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State Law.
