Gloucester County Division of Addiction Services
The Gloucester County Division of Addiction Services coordinates services for adults and adolescents seeking help for substance use issues.
Addiction Services may include:
Treatment – Detox, Residential, Outpatient
Recovery – Halfway house, Sober living
Must be a Gloucester County resident, and for many services, meet income eligibility guidelines.
GC Division of Addiction Services also oversees the Local Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (LACADA); and it’s two subcommittees - the Provider’s Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (PACADA) and the County Alliance Steering Subcommittee (CASS). The LACADA is a volunteer board, whose members are appointed by the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Gloucester County Addictions Task Force
The Gloucester County Addictions Task Force consists of members representing human services, public health, law enforcement, EMS, hospitals, non-profits, faith based, and education. It also includes individuals in recovery, people who have lost loved ones to addiction, and concerned community members. The mission of the Addictions Task Force is to increase awareness of drug addictions and its effects on our community, and to promote and support existing programs for the prevention, treatment, and recovery from addiction.
Free NARCAN Trainings –
The Addictions Task Force, in partnership with Urban Treatment Associates, and the Gloucester County Library System; are hosting free trainings on how to administer Naloxone (Narcan) to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose. Free kits will be available to attendees.

3rd Annual Gloucester County Candlelight Vigil –
The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the County Addictions Task Force are hosting the 3rd Annual Gloucester County Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday August 29, in recognition of International overdose Awareness Day. This event aims to raise awareness of overdose, and reduce the stigma of drug-related death. The day also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends, and remembers those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose. Addictions Task Force
Gloucester County Municipal Alliance
The New Jersey Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA) provides funding for township initiatives for the prevention of Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse. Community resident volunteers support prevention efforts and are appointed by the mayors. Currently, 23 of the 24 municipalities in Gloucester County participate. Under guidelines, Municipal Alliances plan and implement prevention programs to meet their community needs.
