New Programs Offered at County Libraries for Job Seekers
(Woodbury, NJ) - Gloucester County Freeholders announced today several new programs are available for job seekers at the Gloucester County Library System (GCLS) branches throughout January and February.
All programs are without charge, but advance registration is required. Participants can register by calling the branch library or via the events calendar on the GCLS website, www.gcls.org.
"Our Libraries are an outstanding resource for employment seekers and we want to make our residents aware of what is available to them, stated Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger. The workshops are presented by professionals whose advice and counsel is can help them get ahead in this economic climate and competitive job market," said Director Damminger.
Freeholder Deputy Director Warren S. Wallace, Ed. D. said that in addition to the workshops, GCLS libraries also offer free, one-hour computer classes. The Computer class topics include Basic Computer Skills, Intro to the Internet, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
"Our libraries are responsive to the needs of our residents and our reference librarians are extremely knowledgeable in showing people how to take full advantage of what the library has to offer," said Freeholder Deputy Director Warren S. Wallace, Liaison to GCLS. Wallace said, "I encourage anyone who is looking for a job to visit their local library and find out for themselves what great community resources are available."
The workshops are being funded through the New Jersey Library Association cooperative effort with Project Connect.
