Child Care Fair at Deptford Mall Saturday, April 13
The Commission For Women consists of professional women who are appointed by the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders to advise the Board about issues affecting women in the County. Child care and education programs have often emerged as important issues for women in our County.
The Commission is collaborating with The Arc Gloucester, the Southern Regional child Care Resource Center, EIRC and Quality Care Resource and Referral Inc. to celebrate the Week of the Young Child by sponsoring the Gloucester County Child Care Fair at The Deptford Mall on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association, with nearly 80,000 members and a network of over 300 local, state, and regional affiliates.
The purpose of the Week of the Young Child™ is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child™ in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. The Week of theYoung Child™ is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.
At the Fair, social service agencies, child care programs and summer camps will be available to provide information about their programs and services that support families as well as children's healthy development and early education. Entertainment will also be provided.
