Produce Vouchers to Seniors Will Be Available Beginning June 17

(Woodbury, NJ) – Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Lyman Barnes announced today that the county will offer $20 in vouchers to income eligible seniors to buy fresh produce at designated local farmers markets.  Voucher distribution will begin on Monday, June 17.
“Gloucester County will be distributing 2000 vouchers to our eligible seniors so they can purchase produce from our participating farmers markets,” said Freeholder Director Damminger.   “Providing our seniors access to healthy food helps keep them healthy and living independently,” Damminger said.
Freeholder Lyman Barnes, the liaison to the County’s Department of Health and Senior Services said, “This federally funded program gives our seniors a little extra room in their very tight, fixed budgets so they can enjoy the bounty of ourarea farmers.”
