Flower Show and Plein Air Art Competition at Whitall House this Sunday
(National Park, NJ) – The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders is proud to announce that on Sunday June 23, the Ann Whitall Gardeners will host their annual flower show at the Whitall House. This year’s theme is “Famous Botanists” with a special visit from early American botanist and horticulturist John Bartram.
The flower show is free and open to the public and ribbons will be awarded. No pre-registration is required and there is no entry fee. Exhibits must be delivered between 7 am and 9 am. Judging will take place between 10 am-12 pm. Vendors will be in the park selling flowers and plants. Kids will have the opportunity to plant a special project.
A Plein Air art competition will also be held at the Whitall House on Sunday, June 23. The competition is free and open artists 18 years and older. Registration takes place from 9 am to 11 am outside the Flower Show tent. Registration takes place from 9am-11am outside the Flower Show tent. All work to be juried must be in the Flower Show tent at 4:40 pm the day of the event. Prizes will be awarded.
Freeholder Director Robert Damminger said, “We have many talented gardeners and artists in our county and this is a great way for them to show their talents.”

The Plein Air is sponsored by Priya Art Gallery in Woodbury and the Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Gloucester County College.
The Whitall House will be open for tours on Sunday from 12 pm-4 pm and feature hearth cooking demonstrations.
