The staff and volunteers are dedicated and work hard to find homes for stray and unwanted animals.”
Freeholder Dan Christy said that while dogs and cats are the norm, you could find just about any pet you would like at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.
Christy said, “Rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and birds are also adoptable at the shelter. In addition to helping either reunite lost pets with their owners and finding new homes for animals, the staff does a lot of educational programs in our schools by teaching students the importance of animal care and the responsibilities that come with having a pet.” Christy is the liaison to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.
All dogs and cats adopted from the GCAS include spay/neuter and shots. Adoption costs for dogs at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter is $125, cats are $95. There is a discounted fee for senior citizens and veterans of $35.
