Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity Students Will Have a Chance to View Themselves Differently through the Human Race Machine
WHAT: The Gloucester County Tolerance project will present The Human Race Machine to middle school students throughout the county.
The presentation will integrate the Human Race Machine and classroom discussion facilitated by members of the Gloucester County Tolerance Project.
The Human Race Machine is a unique learning tool in the subject of diversity.
The Human Race Machine gives viewers the opportunity to envision themselves as a different race. The machine allows participants to see themselves with the facial characteristics of six different races mapped onto their own visage. It is highly interactive technology which will challenge your perception of race. For more information about the Human Race Machine visit
The program is sponsored by the Gloucester County Department of Correctional Services Tolerance Project, the Gloucester County Prosecutors Office, and the Deptford Township School District. The corporations Walmart and Atlantic City Electric have sponsored the presentations.
WHEN: There will be three 90 minute presentations each day from May 23- May 27 and May 31-June 2 2011. There will not be a presentation on May 30 and only one session on June 3.

On June 2, 2011, the community will be invited to attend a presentation that discusses the "Race the power of an illusion" a documentary series by PBS. Doors will open at 6:30, the program is 7 - 9 pm.
