Holt Logistics Corp Gets Tenant for Port Terminal

(Paulsboro, NJ)  -- Only three months after Holt Logistics Corp announced its partnership with the South Jersey Port Corporation to construct a state-of-the-art terminal at the Port of Paulsboro, a new tenant has agreed to lease space.

NJ Senate President Steve Sweeney, Senator Donald Norcross, Assemblyman John Burzichelli, Freeholder Director Robert Damminger, Freeholder Lyman Barnes and Heather Simmons joined said President of Holt Logistics Leo A. Holt and Thomas Holt Jr. at an announcement today that NMLK Steel will become the first tenant at the new facility.

Senate President Sweeney said, “We are thrilled to stand here today and congratulate Holt Logistics on their first lease at the new terminal they are constructing here at the Port.  We have every confidence that this is only the beginning of what will be a very busy, productive and prosperous port in our region.”

Senator Donald Norcross, whose Economic Opportunity Act spurred the chain reaction of Holt coming to the Port of Paulsboro said, “The announcement of this new tenant will equate to the creation of upwards of 100 permanent jobs here.  That is what this project was always about, creating commerce up and down this river to create good paying jobs for our residents.”

"Our choice of the Paulsboro Marine Terminal was driven by confidence in New Jersey's legislative leaders to complete the project in a timely and professional manner, the professional reputation of South Jersey Port Corporation, access to a deep water port for large supply ships, and the availability of ample space upon the river to grow, said Bob Miller, president of NLMK USA. "Our company is one of the leading suppliers of steel products in the US, and the supply chain for our fundamental raw material, steel slabs, is a critical link in the success of our business plan."

Assemblyman John Burzichelli said, “I have been working to move the Port of Paulsboro forward every step of the way and today marks another big step for this Port, the people of Paulsboro and southern New Jersey.  It has been said, and it is true, if you build it they will come.”

Burzichelli, Senate President Sweeney and Freeholder Director Damminger had been instrumental in the creation of the Port of Paulsboro and the construction of the $23 million access road that diverts truck traffic from the areas neighborhoods.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, “The economy is ticking up and we are positioned to be at the front of the pack when it comes to this port and transporting goods.  We are ecstatic for this new tenant because we know it will be a domino effect for Holt Logistics and the South Jersey Port Corp to attract more new tenants who can design what they want and need in a facility.”
