Parks Events scheduled throughout the summer

(Woodbury, NJ) – Free movies, concerts, Family Fun Shows and many other fun and free events are planned for the coming months in Gloucester County's Parks.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "We kick off the summer with our Free Movies in the Park on Friday evenings and then move into our Memorial Day Ceremony and then Water Fest. Free movies, concerts, and nature programs are scheduled through the entire summer.  There are 60 events for residents to choose to attend this summer."

On Friday, May 27 Monsters University will be shown at Recreation Park in Elk Twp. Movies are scheduled to run throughout Gloucester County's municipalities on Friday and Wednesday through August 31.

On Sunday, May 29 Gloucester County will hold its Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Monroe Twp. at 1 p.m.  In-person Summer Program registration will take place on June 4 at the County Store in the Deptford Mall and on Sunday, June 5, Water Fest will take place at Scotland Run Park in Clayton.

Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco said, "There is something for everyone – children's programs, concerts, history, nature lovers, sports enthusiasts.  A lot of thought and preparation goes into developing and providing the summer programs and our Park’s Department staff is geared up and ready to go for a great summer. "  DiMarco is the liaison to the Department of Parks and Recreation.

DiMarco said that the County’s Park System is in great shape many upgrades have been made over the year including new playground equipment installed at Scotland Run Park.
