Swing into Men’s Health Club this June at area golf courses
(Pitman, NJ) – Gloucester County celebrates June as Men's Health Month annually and this year the Gloucester County Department of Health will hold several events for men to take some healthy steps while on the golf course.
For four different days the Health department staff will be on location providing blood pressure, BMI (body mass index) and dermascan (skin) screenings so men can monitor their numbers and learn about the effects of sun damage."
Freeholder Robert M. Damminger said, "We want to heighten awareness of preventable health problems by encouraging early detection
and treatment of disease among men and boys.”
Freeholder Jim Jefferson, liaison to the County’s Health Department said, “We know we have a captive audience of men at the golf course and we can encourage them to take advantage of the free screenings. Our goal is to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.”
