Adopt-A-Cat Month and Animal Shelter still offers ‘Buy One Get One’

(Clayton, NJ) – June is National Adopt-A-Cat Month and Gloucester County Animal Shelter is offering 'Buy One Get One' cat adoptions throughout the month.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "In 2015 Gloucester County Animal Shelter adopted 211 dogs, 845 cats and 102 small animals such as rabbits, birds and guinea pigs to loveable homes."

Freeholder Daniel Christy said, “With so many cats coming into the shelter, the ‘Buy One Get One’ program is a great opportunity to ensure forever homes are found for our cats.”

In addition to June being Adopt-A-Cat Month, Gloucester County Animal Shelter will be participating in the following events:

·        June 18, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Gloucester County’s low cost spay and neuter clinic operated by People for Animals will be hosting their open house.

·        July 23, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Clear the Shelter day with NBC10.

·        July 30, 2016 and July 31, 2016 Kitten Summer Games hosted by the Hallmark Channel.

Freeholder Christy said, “With the upcoming adoption events, low cost spay and neuter clinic and the Buy One Get One program, the goal is to have less stray and abandoned animals and more animals with forever homes.”

Adoption costs for dogs at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter is $125, cats are $95 and in June its two cats for $95.  There is a discounted fee for senior citizens and veterans of $35.
