West Deptford Middle School Learn and Serve Club donate supplies to Gloucester County Animal Shelter and then take a tour

(Clayton, NJ) – On Thursday, Jan. 18, 39 students from West Deptford Middle School's Learn and Serve Club brought donations to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter (GCAS) and then were given a tour of the facility.  Freeholder Dan Christy provided each student with a certificate of appreciation after the tour.

The fifth and sixth grade students in the Learn and Serve Club held a donation drive and delivered many items to the GCAS for the animals.  The day before their visit the students made dog biscuits to bring with them for their tour.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "I am always encouraged by the values our students have and their willingness to be of service to their community.  I applaud the members of this club and their advisors and thank them for helping take care of homeless animals.

Freeholder Dan Christy, Liaison to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, said, “It was a pleasure to meet with the students of West Deptford Middle School Learn and Serve Club.  They are very responsible young adults who will be wonderful future volunteers and pet owners."
