Teacher honored for lifesaving action

(Washington Twp, NJ) – Freeholder Dan Christy (right) presented a commendation to Domenick Renzi, a fifth-grade basic skills math teacher at Wedgwood Elementary School.  On Jan. 22, 2018 Mr. Renzi performed the Heimlich maneuver on a fifth grade student who was choking as a result of eating lunch too quickly.  

Renzi is also a Washington Township two-time teacher of the year (1998-Bells Elementary; 2017-Wedgwood Elementary), and current Gloucester County teacher of the year and New Jersey state teacher of the year finalist.
