Applications for free adoptions due Friday, Feb. 23

(Clayton, NJ) – The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders reminds residents that in order to participate in the free adoption event being held on World Spay/Neuter day (Feb. 27), applications for a free cat or dog from the Gloucester County Animal Shelter must be pre-approved by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 23.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "The time to submit the application is running out, but residents still have enough time to get their applications in to the shelter and pre-approved before the deadline."

Freeholder Dan Christy, Liaison to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter said, “The Gloucester County Animal Shelter offers prices much less expensive than private providers, and to celebrate World Spay/Neuter day all fees will be waived. This is a great way to raise adoption rates and now is a great time to take advantage of adopting the loving pets the shelter has to offer.”

Those who are approved by the deadline on Friday, Feb. 23 will be eligible to receive a free cat or dog on Feb. 27.
