COUNTY APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF OFFICE OF DISABILITY SERVICES Delores Hardy of Pitman will begin September 26th
(Woodbury, NJ) - Gloucester County Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney and Freeholder Warren S. Wallace announced that Ms. Delores Hardy of Pitman has been selected as Director of the Gloucester County Office of Disability Services.
"Gloucester County is committed to supporting and promoting maximum independence and participation of all persons with disabilities in community life. This office is very important to us and we are confident Delores Hardy will provide strong leadership," said Freeholder Director Sweeney.
Freeholder Dr. Warren Wallace, liaison to the Office of Disability Services, said that Ms. Hardy has strong management and life skills that will assist in steering the office to meet the needs of the community.
"Delores Hardy has a very varied background that we will utilize as an asset to our county and she is a strong manager," said Dr. Wallace. Freeholder Wallace said that she was selected from among several qualified candidates who applied for the position.
The Gloucester County Office of Disability Services has 6 employees. They provide information and assistance and services and support to residents with disabilities and their family members ranging from transportation, employment, personal health, and education. The office coordinates services among government agencies, and promotes American with Disabilities Act (ADA) advocacy.
Ms. Hardy will begin on September 26th. Ms. Hardy is a graduate of the University of Delaware and attended the University of Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ms. Hardy brings several years of management experience to the position and is a life long Gloucester County resident.
