MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY Special Medals Ceremony will give Veterans their due honors
WHAT: The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold a Special Medals
Ceremony in order to present 22 Veterans their medals that they have received
with the assistance of the Gloucester County Office of Veterans Affairs.
There will be 24 different types of medals awarded during the ceremony. The medals range in type from The Silver Star (2 - one posthumously), The Bronze Star Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Defense Medals, American Campaign Medal, Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII (Commonly known as the ruptured duck), Purple Heart Medal, The Army of Occupational Medal Germany & Japan Clasp, The Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. The National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal Army & Air Force, United Nations Service Medal, The Republic of Korea War Service Medal and Certificate signed by the President of Korea, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Air Force Commendation Medal, The Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Navy Discharge Button, Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
