(Woodbury, NJ) - Gloucester County will mark Veterans Day on Friday, November 9th at 12:00 noon at Gloucester County College. The ceremony will be held in the Plaza in front of the flags. The annual Veterans Day Ceremony is co-sponsored by the Board of Freeholders, the Veterans Advisory Committee and Gloucester County College.

Speakers at this year's ceremony will include:
Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney
Freeholder Joe Chila, liaison to Veterans Affairs:
George Diem, Commander of the Gloucester County Veterans Advisory Committee
Steve Duncan, past State Commander of the NJ Disabled American Veterans

The Semper Fidelis Detachment Color Guard will present the Colors, and a bagpiper from the Emerald Society will open and close the ceremony.

"We invite all of our Veterans and residents to join our ceremony to honor our veterans for their patriotism and service to our country," said Freeholder Director Sweeney. "Our veterans deserve our recognition and thanks for their service, their dedication to America allows us all to live in a democracy that provides us with freedom and opportunity," stated Sweeney.

Freeholder Chila said that by the County holding the ceremony on November 9th the students of GCC can take time out of their schedules to observe the ceremony. "The ceremony offers a chance for college students to stand together with veterans and take time to reflect," said Chila. 

If there is inclement weather on Friday, November 9th the ceremony will be held indoors in the Mezzanine.
