March 17th Career Resource Event at GCC More than 2 dozen area Employers to Attend
(Woodbury, NJ)- At least twenty-six area employers and twenty different service and referral agencies will join at the March 17th Gloucester County Career Resource Fair to help residents looking to improve their job options and search for employment.

The day-long Career Resource event will take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the Gloucester County College campus and will feature free workshops, social service agencies, educational institutions and employers who are accepting resumes for current and future positions.
The Career Resource Event will contain two major componentsa series of one-hour workshops that require pre-registration and an Exhibitor portion where residents can stop by to discuss job opportunities with area employers and take advantage of career counseling.
Workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, and dealing with stress in uncertain times will provide both information and tactics for achieving career and personal goals. Resources and guidance on support services such as child care, utility bills, health-care insurance and unemployment benefits to aid struggling individuals and families will also be available.
Area businesses will be in attendance accepting resumes for current and future positions. Counselors from GCC will be on hand to discuss educational prospects and requirements for obtaining a high school diploma and completing two- and four-year degrees, in addition to offering financial aid options.
Times are very difficult and we realize our families are struggling. Many of our residents are finding themselves in situations they never were in before so we are gathering up our resources in one place for the day to help people sort out what is available to them," said Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney.
Freeholder Joseph A. Brigandi Jr. said, "The County is working to attract and retain employers in our region so our residents have good paying jobs. It is tough when major corporations like Sony make decisions that impact our local residents, but we have a team of professionals who pursue every available lead to bring business and industry here and we are committed to economic development." Brigandi is the Freeholder Liaison to the Department of Education and Economic Development.
Employers who will be at the March 17 Career Resource Event include: Advanced Drainage Systems, US Census, Bayada Nurses, Pathfinder LLC, Underwood Memorial Hospital, Car-Tel Communications, PSEG, SERVPRO of Woodbury, Adventure Aquarium, TD Bank, Bellia Products, PNC Bank, Emerson Personnel Group, Office of Civil Rights, South Jersey Federal Credit Union, NuStar, Comcast, Primerica Financial Service, TRS Staffing Solutions, Home Helpers, My Debt Resolution Services, Custom Sportswear, INTEGRA Services Technologies, Defense Contract Audit Agency, H&R Block Deptford, and Dare Living Associates, Inc.
Partners participating in the event include the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Gloucester County Workforce Investment Board, Gloucester County College, Gloucester County Veterans Affairs, Gloucester County Health Department, Gloucester County One Stop and several other county departments; the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development; Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, and Underwood Memorial Hospital. Additional sponsors taking part in the program are The Gloucester County Times, The American Red Cross, United Way of Gloucester County, Sun National Bank, and People for People.
