Gloucester County Sheriff's Department announces child safety seat inspections and child fingerprinting event
(Woodbury, NJ) - Gloucester County Sheriff Carmel Morina announced today that the
Gloucester County Sheriff's Department will be holding Child Safety Seat inspections on
Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Performance Dodge, 555 Mantua Pike (Route 45),Woodbury,
NJ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A certified Child Passenger Safety Technician from the Sheriff's Department will be
available to inspect your car seat to ensure that it is properly installed and that it is the
correct size for the child. Officers will also show individuals the correct way to install a
child safety seat in their vehicle. Sheriff Morina stated, "It is extremely important that
the seat is properly installed and that the seat is appropriate for the child to ensure the
maximum safety in the event of an accident."
"Our children are precious cargo and we need to keep them safe while traveling," stated
Sheriff Morina. The Technician will also check to make sure that the seat is not expired
and will replace any seat that is found not to be up to standards. The event is open to the
public and inspections are available on all makes and models of motor vehicles.
In addition to the Child Safety Seat inspections, a Sheriff's Officer will be available to
fingerprint children so parents can have a record for use in an emergency.
