County Honored for Economic Development Efforts by Northeastern Economic Developers Association

(WOODBURY, NJ) - The Gloucester County Department of Economic Development was honored with an Excellence Award in Literature and Promotions from NEDA (Northeastern Economic Developers Association) for the County's 6th Annual Bankers and Brokers Breakfast program held last March.

The award was presented to the county by Bette Spinelli, NEDA Awards Committee Chairperson at the Annual NEDA Conference held on October 2nd in Atlantic City.

"We appreciate NEDA's recognition of our efforts," said Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney. "We are always working with our municipalities to improve quality of life for residents, attract new businesses and jobs."

Freeholder Joseph A. Brigandi, Jr., who is liaison to Economic Development, said that the Gloucester County Department of Economic Development's submission was chosen from over 100 entries.  Brigandi said that the Department composed a booklet for the event, 'County Municipal Profiles and Featured Properties' which was distributed to all attendees and contained pertinent information about individual municipalities and their featured properties, for sale or lease.  The booklet was composed after receiving back a Featured Properties Form which was mailed by Economic Development to the municipalities to identify particular properties and described these properties accurately.

"Due to the reputation of this program and the hard work by the staff to promote and produce it, this year we had a record number of attendees at our Bankers and Brokers Breakfast with over 120 of the areas leading Financial Lenders, Commercial Brokers, and Economic Development Professionals," said Freeholder Brigandi.  "This award is a testament to the success of the annual breakfast and the county's efforts to attract quality business and industry to our region."
