New Jersey Association of County Finance Officers Names Treasurer 'Finance Officer of The Year'

(Forsgate, NJ) -- The New Jersey Association of County Finance Officers named Gloucester County Treasurer Jean Dubois Finance Officer of the Year.  She is a two-time recipient of the award, receiving the first in 1998.

Jean DuBois is a professional in every sense of the word, said Wade Frazee, President of the NJACFO.  She has been a member of our Association for more than twenty years and throughout her tenure her knowledge of finance has helped her own county and every county in the state.  Her outstanding contribution in the field of finance is the reason that Jean was selected to receive this award this year, said Frazee.

The Association is comprised of over 130 members from throughout the state who are CFOs for county government or other employees within the government finance field.  One of the many functions of the NJACFO is to provide state legislative bodies with accurate and helpful information for the development of sound legislation affecting the counties, to monitor proposed legislation and represent its members at legislative hearings and state agency meetings and assist in the drafting of legislation affecting its members, and to study and recommend improvements and efficiencies in the methods of county government.

Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney said that Jean DuBois commitment to the fiscal stability of the county is one of the reasons that the county has been successful in reducing the tax rate and receiving high marks from Wall Street.

Jean has extensive knowledge and experience in county finance.  Her attention to detail, ability to get the county the best interest rates, and innovative ideas on cost efficiencies are a large reason that the county is on such strong financial ground, said Freeholder Director Sweeney.  We are very proud that Jean DuBois has been acknowledged by her peers throughout the state to receive this award, Gloucester County is fortunate to have her as County Treasurer, Sweeney said.

Jean DuBois is from Mantua Township and been the County Treasurer since 1984, serving both Democratic and Republican Freeholder Boards.
