Senior Citizen Picnic Tickets Still Available This year's Picnic will be Held on September 12th
(Woodbury, NJ) - The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders will sponsor the annual Senior Citizen Picnic on September 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Redbank Battlefield in National Park.
"Lunch, music, and dancing will be provided to over 1,500 senior citizens," said Freeholder Director Sweeney.
This year's theme is "Patriotic: Red, White and Blue" and participants are encouraged to dressed in festive attire. In addition to dance contests, an award will be given to most original outfit.
Freeholder Sweeney said, "The picnic is always a great time and we are looking forward to it. We have a lot of residents who come each year and have made a tradition out of it, but it is nice to see the new faces too."
"Our Senior Services staff and all of the county departments and employees who participate in this event go out of their way to make an extra special day for our citizens with dancing, food and entertainment," said Freeholder Helene M. Reed, liaison to the Department of Health and Senior Services. "There is something for everyone," said Freeholder Reed.
Resident 60 years or older that live in Gloucester County are invited to attend. Tickets are $2 and are on sale at Offices at Five Points in Sewell, the Budd Boulevard Complex in West Deptford on Tuesdays, and at the six nutrition sites throughout the county. For questions please call 232-4646.
