Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity Fall Prevention Awareness Week for Seniors
|WHAT: || |
Gloucester County Freeholder Jean DuBois will present a proclamation to a group of senior citizens to bring attention to Fall Prevention week, that annually takes place during the first week of autumn. The group of seniors is beginning a six week Tai Chi class run through the Gloucester County Health Department.
According to the National Council on Aging, falls are the leading cause of fatal injuries for Americans 65 and older. Tai Chi, and other physical programs help older adults gain the strength, improved balance, and confidence to help them live healthier lives and preserve their independence.
