(Deptford, NJ) - The Gloucester County Animal Shelter and the Deptford Crossing PetSmart will hold two 'photo-opportunity' weekends for owners to have their pets' holiday picture taken with Santa 'Claws'

The "Santa Claws Photo Opportunities" will all be held from 11 am to 4 pm at PetSmart in the Deptford Crossing Shopping Center, 1800 Clements Bridge Road on:

Saturday, December 11, Sunday, December 12, and

The cost of the photo is $9.95 and $5.00 from each photo package sold goes to benefit the homeless animals at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.

"For just $10 families can have fun and get their pet's picture taken with Santa while donating to a great cause." This event typically raises $350 to our Animal Shelter," said Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney. "Families are not limited to bring in a dog or cat for their photo with Santa Claws, we have had people bring their pet ferrets, rabbits, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs and iguanas for their holiday picture," Sweeney said.

This year a dozen county employees have volunteered to play Santa, Santa's helpers and photographers at this event. "Our employees and volunteers are dedicated to helping find the animals at the shelter a good home throughout the year and we are very appreciative of their service," said Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the Animal Shelter.

Guest Santa's this year will include Ken Atkinson, Director of the Office of Land Preservation; Wayne Klotz of Buildings and Grounds; and volunteer Santa's Helpers and photographers include employees from the Animal Shelter, Administration, County Assessor's Office, Land Preservation, GCEMS and Juvenile Justice.
