Gloucester Becomes 21st County to Participate in Project Lifesaver

The Sheriff's Association of New Jersey will hold a joint news conference with Gloucester County to announce that New Jersey will be the first in the nation to have statewide coverage for Project Lifesaver.

Project Lifesaver is a rescue program that provides enhanced support and assistance to residents who are primary caregivers for a child suffering from autism, children afflicted with Down syndrome, or individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia disorder.

Statewide coverage offers freedom to a family on vacation in our state.  The Sheriff in one county can call the Sheriff in another county and pass on the information about the Alzheimer's patient or the child with autism so the person can be quickly located if they accidentally wander away from their family. Project Lifesaver has partnered with law enforcement throughout the nation.  Even if a New Jersey family is vacationing out of state, the Sheriffs Office in that state can retrieve our Project Lifesaver information.

Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts will be the Keynote Speaker at this event and the incoming President of The National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) and the CEO of under of Project Lifesaver International will also participate.
