"It’s nice to see children doing something we used to do when we were kids; they enjoy the fishing and the competition. We are grateful to the new owners of Sportsman’s Outpost in Williamstown for providing prizes and keeping this tradition to help make this event a success," said Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger.
“The County’s Parks and Recreation Department holds many programs for our children that encourage them to be outside and learn about nature and the world around them,” said Freeholder DiMarco. “We are fortunate to have dedicated sponsors and volunteers who help us deliver family entertainment,” DiMarco said.
Freeholder DiMarco said that all children ages 18 and under are eligible to win a first or second place trophy and prize in three age groups. The age groups are: 7 years and under; 8 to 13 years; and 14 to 18 years. There is a boating and non-boating category. Everyone 16 years and older must be licensed. Contestants should bring their own bait and are limited to one rod and reel.
