County Animal Shelter and PetSmart to hold Adopt-A-Thon

(Deptford, NJ) – The Gloucester County Animal Shelter will join with PetSmart of Deptford to hold its annual Adopt-A-Thon during the first weekend in May.

“This is a fun weekend where the animals in our shelter get the main stage in PetSmart.
We have had very successful adopt-a-thons in the past, and PetSmart is a great corporate neighbor who always is helping the county find animals’ homes,” said Freeholder Director Sweeney.

PetSmart of Deptford houses an off-site adoption center for the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.  During the special Adoption event there are more animals brought to the store for customers to consider.

Freeholder Frank DiMarco noted that typically the annual weekend promotion at PetSmart helps increase the adoption of animals by 10 to 15.

“Adopting a pet from the Gloucester County Animal Shelter is affordable for our families,” said Freeholder Frank DiMarco, liaison to the Shelter.  Prices for cats or kittens are $95 dogs or puppies are $125.  The prices include spaying or neutering, age appropriate shots and all have been wormed.

“Our shelter staff is helpful and knowledgeable and will assist in getting you the right animal for your household,” the Freeholder said.

The Adopt-A-Thon will take place:
Friday, May 4th from 6 pm until 9 pm
Saturday, May 5th from 11 am until 6 pm
Sunday, May 6th from 12 pm to 4 pm
