Adam Taliaferro is an attorney at Duane Morris. Adam resides in Woolwich Township with his wife. He is the founding board member of the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which provides emotional, financial and educational support to student-athletes who suffer catastrophic head or spinal injuries.
Adam was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in November of 2011 and oversees the Department of Parks and Land Preservation. His responsibilities as Liaison to this Department include: Parks & Recreation; Parks & Recreation Advisory Council; Land Preservation; Rutgers Cooperative Extension Service; Utilities Authority; Pitman Golf Course; Pitman Golf Course Advisory Council; Agriculture Development Board; Animal Shelter; and the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee.
Adam Taliaferro was a Penn State football player who suffered a spinal-cord injury after tackling an opponent headfirst during his freshman year. He was told that he had only a small chance of ever walking again due to the injury, but was able to overcome his paralysis and walked out of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in just four months. He graduated from Penn State, on time, in 2005, and is a 2008 graduate of Rutgers School of Law – Camden.
Mr. Taliaferro has received many awards, including the 2009 Philadelphia Sports Writers Humanitarian Award and Bank of America's Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Award. He was also the honorary chairman for the 2002 Special Olympics Summer Games.
